Ahh, the good times we had

Remember me? I'm Rainbow Brite! I was one of Zoe's favourite childhood TV shows, along with Lady LovelyLocks and Return To Oz. My horse held particular appeal for her, with classic lines like ""Magnificent. I don't know another horse who could've done that."

Too true.

The Book of Glory

This is the stunning cover of a birthday present I received last night from one of my dearest friends- I think the best thing about this is that she had no idea I'd embarked on a vintage shopping stint recently, but her 6th friendship sense came through!

The cover is fabric, and the tag comes off and is attached with a blue ribbon. Its a stunning book and has descriptions of all vintage designers (whether still going or sadly closed) and also a HUGE directory of good vintage shops all over the world. They are interspersed with stunning pictures of lovely fabrics and great fashion illustrations.

Thats the second fantastic fashion book I've received this birthday, and my bookshelf is starting to look very chic. Of course this aesthetic is only enhanced by the addition of Alarm Clock Miffy.

Melbournians in Manhattan!

Check this out! Go us! (even though none of this is remotely related to me.... i live in melbourne, is that enough?)

http://www.nylonmag.com/?section=article&parid=187

Its a cool little snapshot of a boutique in New York run by a Melbourne woman who only stocks totally cool Australian designs- lovely stuff but not "too avant-garde".... now if only there were more shops like that in Melbourne itself.....

Miffed! or not...

This is my new alarm clock. I can see you all going "Miffy! I remember Miffy! Awesome!" But before your excitement peaks there, let me share this with you- Miffy's alarm music is Under The Sea from The Little Mermaid. Isnt that the best surprise!? I can tell you, when I got Miffy home with some batteries and worked out how to set the alarm I laughed uncontrollably and very loudly for about 10 minutes.

Also- I finally got my dress back from the alterationers- and its awesome!! Not if only it wasn't 10 degrees I could wear it! I had to buy a belt to belt it with, which is ok cos I didnt have a tan coloured belt anyway.

And tonight I am going to see Paris j'taime, so I can report back on how it is tomorrow.

AND!!! I've made $95 on ebay so I can BUY SOMETHING NEW. Quality not quantity! Maybe I'll dye my hair....... or save more and buy something totally awesomely fabulous. Or buy fish. I want some fish, teeny tiny fluoro ones- not as pets but more as something nice to look at. Decoration. I'll still feed them though! Dead fish do not a nice decor make.

winter challenge!!!

so here is something I know I desperately need to do hahahaha

"Less is more." You'll save an enormous amount of time, money and stress by thinning out your huge wardrobe and organizing your closet.
1. GET THE PROPER SUPPLIES.
Buy a starter set of 30 hangers, or 60 if the closet is shared by two people. Get the sturdy, plastic ones. They're inexpensive and can be obtained at a homegoods store. Buy all one color for uniformity (or if you're sharing closet space with someone, get one color for yourself, and another color for the person you're sharing space with.)
While you're at the store, pick up a few sturdy skirt and pants hangers. Vertical skirt hangers with clips that hold 5 to 6 skirts on one hanger are a great choice. In addition, pick up an expandable shoe rack and a tie rack if you wear ties.
2. START WITH A CLEAN SLATE.
Pull out everything (yes, everything) that's currently in your closet. Keep in mind, as you're doing so, that you probably only wear 20% of your clothes on a regular basis, 10% of them are for special occasions, and the other 70% of them are probably never used at all.
3. SEPARATE CLOTHES INTO 5 PILES.
A. Clothes that meet any of the following criteria:-- it is outdated-- it is ripped-- it is stained-- it doesn't fit (if you're not sure whether or not it fits, try it on now)-- you think it may come back in fashion someday-- you wouldn't dream of ever wearing it again
B. Wire Hanger Pile (they're weak, they stick up in the air, and they damage your clothing)
C. Clothes that need minor repairs such as sewing a hem or replacing a button. If it's too much of a hassle to repair it, then don't put it in this pile.
D. Clothes you love and wear at least once a month AND clothes you love and wear at least twice a year (special occasion wardrobe). Your wardrobe should always make you feel good about yourself. If you don't love it or wear it often, it doesn't belong in this pile.
E. Any other items that don't fit into Category A, B, C or D.
4. CATEGORY A OR B: DUMP IT OR DONATE IT.
Ok, now here's the fun part. Grab a large plastic garbage bag and dump everything (yes, everything) from your A pile into it. Bring it to your local charity organization first thing in the morning or dump it now.
If you're still reading this in disbelief, take a deep breath to get over the initial shock, then go ahead and toss it or donate it. You'll feel better in the end.
While you're at it, take all those terrible, awful, lousy wire hangers (Have you gotten the point that I really don't like wire hangers?!) in your B pile and bring them to your Dry Cleaner for recycling or dump them immediately.
C'mon now. Are you still considering keeping something in your A or B piles?? Please, dump it. It's clutter. You'll feel better about it later when your closet is organized, inviting and free of chaos.
5. CATEGORY C: REPAIR IT WITHIN 2 WEEKS.
Ok, now that your A and B piles are donated or trashed (I hope), let's move on to your C pile. This pile should contain those articles of clothing that need minor repair. Get a basket or container. Dump this entire pile in it. Now, carry that basket over to your clothing repair area.
Give yourself a 2 week deadline. If it's not done in two weeks, dump or donate the entire basket. After all, if it's not important enough for you to repair, it's clutter. Sound drastic? I wouldn't steer you wrong. It's very easy for clutter to build up, and I want to help you eliminate any chance of it happening to you again.
6. CATEGORY D: ORGANIZE YOUR KEEPERS.
Sort everything in your D pile by category of clothing (blouses, skirts, pants, suits, etc.) When done sorting, start with one category. Take one article of clothing at a time, put it on a hanger (the colorful, sturdy, plastic kind) and hang it in the closet. (Important Note: If you found something that didn't belong in the closet in the first place, don't put it there again.)
Do this until you've managed to hang all of your categories of clothing, making sure that all clothing and hangers are facing the same direction. (By the way, if you share your closet with someone, don't mix clothing together. Put each individual's clothing on either side of the closet.)
7. CATEGORY E: CATEGORIZE AND ORGANIZE EVERYTHING ELSE.
If, due to lack of additional storage space, you have some items that simply have to be returned to your closet which haven't been put there already (your E pile), categorize them. Then, get some inexpensive organizing containers so that each category remains separated and place the containers on shelves in your closet.
Now is a good time to set up your brand new, sturdy, expandable shoe rack and neatly place your shoes on it.
8. FINISHING TOUCHES.
Now, you're ready for some finishing touches. If you install a few hooks on an empty closet wall, you'll be able to hang belts, umbrellas and handbags. If you're lucky enough to have cubbies in your closet, purses and hats can be stored there; otherwise, put them on your closet shelves.
You can even pick up a clear, over-the-door shoe bag for small accessories such as hosiery, scarves, jewelry and the like. Don't put shoes in the shoe bag. It may sound funny, but these bags are too flimsy and awkward for the weight of most shoes, plus they collect dirt from shoe bottoms.
9. FINAL THOUGHTS.
Don't overstuff. There should be plenty of room in your closet to get an item in or out. If there's not, consider thinning out your wardrobe a little more. The goal here is quality, not quantity. Don't buy another thing to wear without first determining if you really need it. Some people like to discard something they're not really happy with anymore, for a new item.
10. CELEBRATE.
Congratulations! You're done. Don't you feel great?! You deserve a special reward for your hard work. Treat yourself to dinner, or a double hot fudge sundae. Go for a massage. Rent and watch a favorite movie. Be happy. Your closet is!

Star Guitar.....

So its Saturday morning and the Audreys were AWESOME last night. Only glitch in the evening was the drunken rednecks who were TALKING, LOUDLY, through the entire set..... I dont get it. This was a sold out gig, at a venue renowned for bands, and it was in the band room, not in the normal pub area, or the beer garden, and these people paid $40 to see this band- and they stood with their backs to them and TALKED. Over the top of the band, to the point where between songs there was a quiet roar of noise. Disgusting.

On a lighter note, or really just a different note, I really really really really want to go shopping. I want colourful, printed things. I want fish (live fish), and a US Vogue subscription, and a tshirt with the cover of Led Zeppelin's III on it, and a pink tshirt, and a stripy dress, and comfy supportive black ballet slippers (bit random I know, but so comfy at work, and not as random as the fish, you have to admit).

I also want a Daisy Rock Star Guitar:
How cool is that!!!! It would be PERFECT for our band. I would ROCK. OUT.

I also need some guitar lessons. This is a minor setback.

But back to the shopping. Its been a lean few weeks what with the spending freezes etc, although that hasnt really stopped me, and I dont REALLY have any money, but.... if I saw something I loved...... I dont know. I cant decide whether to go into the Big City on my way home from work in case I find something. I shouldnt spend any money, really, but then my addiction is calling me!

Its a problem. What to do? I think I SHOULD just go straight home and then go to the gym or something..... but I could just pop in quickly, and risk Shoppers Depression. You know, when you head off to shop, but know you cant really afford it? And then you buy something, which you dont really need, and you get a bit depressed cos now you've spent the money, and it was kinda a waste, and you've done the wrong thing by yourself? Shoppers Depression.

I think I'll write a list, then weigh up the pros and cons.

Also I am getting broadband at home so I'll be able to post much more interesting and relevant things from the comfort of my own bedroom and not be rushed and paranoid at work. Hooray!

scarlett fever...not

Here is yet another example of how annoying Scarlett Johannsen is. Why is she in this pic? Stella is standing in FRONT of her probably hoping she will hide how awful Scarlett looks in her design while Scarlett seems to have grabbed her hand at the last second grrr I just wish that she would stop letting her stylist dress her. For a while there she was doing fine picking out her own wardrobe and now she seems to have stumbled back into her old habits. I have faith in you Scarlett but I don't know how many more photos like this I can stand!

Liv Tyler on the other hand looks stunning here. What a wicked dress (racer back) the material is great and I love that it shows some leg! and not to mention the gorgeous hair and accessories! snaps to you Liv! one of us should wear this for our first gig I reckon!

New Day, New CD, New Look

I've been thinking about this for a while and making notes in the back of my uni notebook while at lectures, and debating, and wondering, and mulling over, and I've decided, maybe, it might be time for an update of my look. Not that I really have a look (although please correct me if you know me cos I'm really blind to this sort of thing), but I think some new ground can be explored.

Specifically in the area of hair, but also in dress, and possibly in makeup. I've been looking at recent photos, and come to the conclusion that I could do with a) a hair change (although still long! dont panic!) and maybe some more serious lip colour.

I'm also dreaming of a new coat.....like this one:

(photo from style.com) Its the collar. And the lips. I'm going to be working more next semester and I dont want to get into a work uniform rut. I need to be more outrageous in my work choices (after all, I work in a music store, its not like I have to wear a suit) and generally be a bit more out there.

So I want wilder hair. Like this:
(Photo from The Sartorialist). Mine is a lot longer and much less curly than this but how COOL is she?! I think my hair would respond well to a little fro action. And then it could be messy and easy, which would be awesome. BUT this may require a cut to get it in the right shape. Or I could get a fringe, or a colour (dark dark like one shade away from black). Any thoughts?

As for the dress, I'm thinking dresses (der) but dresses with shape. Not necessarily shaped to fit, but shape that gives a different silhouette, you know? Shape-changing dresses. I have a little trapeze pinafore and a bubble skirted dress and I think this is a good start. Think Gucci sparkly minidresses or Fendi silver a-line minidresses. (i'd get pics for you but its nearly lunchtime and I'm running out of morning energy). Its kind of an shapely, chic, doll-style. With crazy cool hair.

PS I am listening to the new Rufus Wainwright and so help me if the man isnt TOTALLY gorgeous..... I know he's gay, but I can love him anyway. And the strings on the album are stunning, and theres a FLUTE SOLO.

PPS I want a tshirt printed with a Prince album- problem is, which one??? Molly, this is where you come in.......

Right now I'm...

Wearing- a certain CLEAR headband

Reading- Funeral in Berlin by Len Deighton might as well read about it if I can’t be there

Listening to on High Rotation- Lior and Architecture in Helsinki

Watching- Ugly Betty , Heroes, Greys and Biggest Loser- i love them all equally

Dreaming of- a time when uni will be OVER

Doing- typing blog instead of working while using peripheral vision to full advantage to spot boss coming in door before he spots me not working
hahahahaha its funny that I don’t need to change this at all from yours zoe!

Wish I was doing- Idly shopping for lovely things of any nature before bunking down in a cosy cafe with ZOE to gossip and knit scarves and read fashion magazines OR similar scenario but in more exotic location ie Cairns/Paris DITTTTTTTTTO!!!!!

The glories of ebay (continued)

Ebay is just so awesome. I cant wait til you pick up that headband. Or until I see you wearing it- you will so awesomely ahead of fashion, not least because there ARE NO CLEAR FREAKING HEADBANDS IN AUSTRALIA, weiners.

The thing I love most about ebay is when you're having a crap day at work cos when you went to to collect your dress of glory from the dressmakers it turns out THEY HAVENT DONE WHAT YOU WANT, AND IT WILL COST YOU 20 DOLLARS MORE TO GET WHAT YOU WANT, BUT IT WONT BE READY TIL MONDAY, SO YOU CANT WEAR IT THIS WEEKEND grrrr grrrr, you arrive at work to find the gay old red levis you put on ebay just before you left the night before have SOLD. Already. And you wont even miss them cos they have been living at your parents house for like, 3 years, cos you couldnt throw them away, and now they are making you money!

And 2 of my other items have people watching them so they will sell too!! I highly recommend going through your wardrobe and pulling out everything that is "too good to throw away" despite the fact you've only worn it once cos its a funny shape/doesnt really fit/is kinda totally not your colour/etc and sell it!! Everything looks different when you start thinking about having $20 instead of it.

a clear decision

ok so i am WAY impressed with ebay today. for ages after i saw the cool clear headband in australian vogue (where they re-used the scarlett johansen cover from UK or something and just made the writing GREEN instead of PINK...like we woulnd't notice???) i have been searching for one. so finally the other day miss zoe and i were at work on msn (as per usual) and i realised i hadn't tried ebay. i typed clear plastic headband in and VOILA! there was one on sale for $US2.24. perfect and now i have received a lovely note from my postman saying i can go get her from the post office today! so just because none of the stores in the city or at HIGHPOINT have what you want doesn't mean you can't get!!!

Best Jeans Ever

Ahhhh. Wednesday.

Well the good news is I can pick up my dress tomorrow! And then I will take photos to show you all. The bad news is I am one day into my 4 day working week. And my legs hurt. But they hurt cos I ran one WHOLE kilometer yesterday. This is a major breakthrough for me, usually I make it to about 200 meters and practically collapse. But I actually enjoyed my run yesterday, so I think this signals a new era- I am now a Runner.

But on to more important things- who didn't love the Chanel Resort? This is my favourite:
Awesome jeans. I want them. Casual, slouchy, yet flattering. I wonder how long it will take for this style to filter down to my level of affordability? Or even to Chanel in Melbourne- I noticed yesterday they have the black sequin hotpants in the window..... sigh.

Also if you went to Miss Louise yesterday looking for a bag when I got there at 12.45 all they had left was shiny tacky shoes... the cream of the crop long gone. But their new store sounds good- they've needed it for a while.

Also, buy wool tights from Target- they are truly warm, BUT check which way round they are before you put them on- cos one side has 2 seams which I think is meant to be at the back, to cover the excess bottomy bits there. Otherwise you will spend a day wondering why these tights seem to be tighter on one side than the other.... its uncomfortable when you spend all morning walking the city streets. I know this from experience.

.............. Of The Day

Item of the Day- high waisted short-shorts/hotpants in Cue. The were a slightly sparkly black/grey wool. Definitely high waisted, but with so little actual "short" there would definitely be bottom hanging out. So good with tights though, I'm imagining, if you had the occasion to wear it.

News of the Day- last accounting lecture ever!! EVER!! Now only one tute and the dreaded exam and I'm done. And I'd better bloody pass or there will be HELL to PAY.

Boys Item of the Day- a dark purple with cream cuffs and collar Sisley jumper that my dad grew too jubby for and so I passed it onto Nick, who at first was all "ew, thats a GIRLS jumper" but I convinced him it was a MANS jumper, he wore it to work, then recieved so many complements on it that he has worn it EVERY DAY since then. hahahahhahahahahhahahahahaha.

I am so tempted to copy and paste Mollys latest quiz and fill it in right now but I stole her last one so I feel a bit bad. This guilt will probably wear off by wednesday so stay tuned. Meanwhile I will try to find some other questions that I can then pass on to others, completing a happy circle of quiz sharing.

aaaahahahahhahahahah whoops at first i forgot to write a title for today.... and now that I have, it seems a bit crap.

Oh but PS the green tights were a WINNER.

A Blog in Two Parts

Part 1:

I know I always carry on about this, in blog and in real life, but man I love dresses. There is nothing better than throwing on a great dress, and then looking and feeling awesome all day long. I work with all boys and for ages I had a phobia of wearing dresses to work, and I recently overcame this and now I wear dresses almost every day- and work is so much better!

This is from The Sartorialist, and its just the most perfect example of how a great dress can look so chic and casual and not-even-trying cool:

Doesn't she look so happy? And comfy, and great? I aspire to look this good everyday. Although perhaps with thick tights and a coat, cos it is SO. COLD. right now in Melbourne.

Continuing the hunt for awesome patterned dresses......

Part 2:

I saw a girl in the supermarket last night wearing almost this EXACT outfit no joke and I thought "hey- you must read The Sartorialist too!" and then felt a bit funny about assuming she got her outfit inspiration from his site, but then who doesn't? She looked just as good, and she had a cute boy trailing her as well, so snaps for her. She seemed slightly grumpy, but then it was like 6pm, dark as pitch and bucketing rain outside.

Anyhoo only 45 minutes of work to go then I am off to collect layby- totally awesome Balenciaga style black dress with bubble/tulip skirt and wide belt to cinch waist (and I mean bubble as in round and puffy, not bubble hem GROSS)- and buy birthday presents to take to the Birthday Boy at whose party I will be wearing said awesome dress, WITH- get me- turquoise double fishnets!!! Oh yeah!!

A Knitting Yarn

One day back when Maud and I were just starting knitting we took a small road trip out to a shop called Marta's Yarns somewhere out far away on Dandenong Rd or somewhere and we giggled the whole drive about how it was called MARtas YARns etc etc, and when we got there and saw the fabled Marta she was so much better than expected cos her hair was in sort of soft dreads each one dyed a different colour- and it matched her wool (sorry, yarn). It was like she dipped a dread into each colour batch when she dyed the wool..... eccentric, to say the least.

Anyway that was our first knitting adventure, and now, thanks to our anonymous commenter, we can have another one! And hopefully this one will be no less exciting- its name is just as good "Darn Cheap Materials" hehehe, and while it may take us a while to get there, you can be sure we will post about it, anonymous!

(PS please dont hold your breath about the hemming, I am not known for my dexterity with this sort of complicated activity, but I will investigate and let you know how I go.)

(PPS sorry about the pun heading, terrible I know)

Thursday 17 May 2007

Right now I'm

Wearing- Stella McCartney dress with tights

Reading- The Second Sex; and The Fashion Pack

Listening to on High Rotation- Holly Golightly and Brian Jonestown Massacre

Watching- Ugly Betty (what else)

Dreaming of- my new dresses, a totally awesome flat to live in a la Carrie Bradshaw with complete security so nothing scary happens

Doing- typing blog instead of working while using peripheral vision to full advantage to spot boss coming in door before he spots me not working

Wish I was doing- Idly shopping for lovely things of any nature before bunking down in a cosy cafe with Maud to gossip and knit scarves and read fashion magazines OR similar scenario but in more exotic location ie Cairns/Paris

Getting a bit depressing now especially as its just started to rain here in Melbourne. Which is good news for the drought, I suppose.

Also, the lovely anonymous commenter who mentioned the shop in Newport (thats Newport across the West Gate isnt it?) can you actually buy this ready-made-cabling in any colour for any occasion? Whats the story with that? Thanks for the heads up!

Triumph!

Did I mention I was looking for dresses with print/colour/both? I FOUND ONE. In Retrostar, cheap, with holes in the seams (easily fixed) and AWESOME pattern. Made out of slightly plasticky fabric with purple and green stripes (very chic, dont worry) and a lovely big print of some kind of lily or other flower. Its also of the horrid "dropped-waist-gathered with elastic" sort of 80's style, with CREW NECK, which looks shocking on me, but I have already converted that to a lovely collarbone exposing boat neck, and dropped it off this morning to be altered into an empire a-line above the knee dress exposing the pattern properly. Its kinda Prada-esque. I love it. I wanted to wear it to Michaels (is rocks! yeah!) birthday, but it wont be ready! So its debut will either be The Audreys next Friday at the Corner or the Youth Symphony Orchestra concert featuring The Boy's double-bass debut next Saturday. Going to look smashing!

Tuesday 15 May 2007

oooh, and!

We have been linked by 2 of my favourite blogs in a week!! This is so exciting after our little slump of no posting cos of no readership! We have linked both of them too, so if you are reading this and havent checked them out, the list is to your left. Go go go!!

(PS Is it bad to try to trick yourself that you are "going to pay back your savings" therefore negating all guilt about transferring money out of savings to pay off layby? Or should I just wait til I have enough cash? Its ALL MY MONEY, it shouldnt matter. But I am still going in my head "well payday is friday so I can pay back half then and if i dont buy ANYTHING else it wont be so bad and after all, what are savings for?.......")

Tuesdays Formula

This week has been up and down. Firstly, I was told that ALL FORMULAS WILL BE PROVIDED for my accounting exam. You cannot understand how much stress, anxiety, worry, panic, and sadness I have been harbouring while I tried to fathom exactly HOW i was going to learn all the equations needed for this exam. It was a weight off my shoulders, to put it lightly.

Secondly, I cant join the easy 3 day weiner intensive course over the holidays that involves no work BUT counts for 12 credit points. This is bad- means I will have to do it in the summer which means I have no escape plan in case of failing accounting (which is made slightly less likely by my first point).

Then, my work got a cool write up in the paper for selling a sax to Pharoah Sanders who is an awesome old sax dude, so that was cool.

Finally, my studio assignment is now not due for another month, which takes the pressure off. Mind you, I should still be studying, instead of knitting a great purple scarf and watching 4 episodes of SATC, season 2.

Does anyone know how to knit cable? I want to knit an awesome patterned scarf for myself for this winter, and my dreams were shot down when I asked the lady at Cleggs if a particular pattern was difficult, and she looked me up and down and said derisively, "not if you can knit cable". Which of course I cant! I thought perling was doing well!

So heres the formula :

does Cost of learning to cable-knit in order to make own scarf + wool costs + time = Just buying one from Mimco?

Come back!

Letters to Marc Jacobs is over. I'm sad! I really liked her letters, and emi even sent me an email once, so I feel touched by greatness (in the blog world) and I like that she spells her name with a little "e", and generally think its a great idea to write letters to someone publicly
If I was to blatantly steal her idea, I'd write letters to Prince

Or Carine Roitfeld- cos if she wrote back she'd have something awesome to say.

Plus who else looks this good in leopard print AND red shoes? Or Karl, but he is a bit too fashion full on for me (treading a fine line here between him and Carine) and intimidating. So maybe Tom Ford (again, treading that line) actually that sounds quite cool "Letters to Tom Ford". In honour of Letters To Marc Jacobs passing, here is my first version:

Dear Tom,

When will you come back? Ads in magazines havent been the same since you left. I miss the glamour!

I think my cold has gone, or is at least being hammered by all the vitamin c i've had in the last 24 hours. I'm reading Street- a bday present from Maud, and its SO AWESOME. Its inspired me so much i am wearing long boots to work for the first time ever today cos I couldnt bear to wear something less than totally amazing. And, no-one has noticed, which just goes to show that me being scared of someone making a comment on me wearing them (I work with all boys, you see) was completely unfounded.

I didnt like you're fragrance. I do like Julia Restoin-Roitfeld though, so I dont mind so much about the smell.

Love Zoe

Where would you wear this?

Ashleyfashion on style.com would wear this for cocktails and dirty jokes at the Ritz in Paris. Sounds pretty alright to me, and makes me think we should all be wearing lovely silky dresses out and about in Melbourne to have cocktails and dirty jokes with our friends. I know we've said this a lot lately, but we dont dress up enough!! And really, if you wore this dress with some messy hair and a happy laugh, its really casual enough to wear ANYWHERE, but particularly the Gin Palace, I feel. It would make you so happy. BTW its Spring 2007 Christian Dior.

Mama, why come I cant get this dress to show off my junk?

Those of you who know me know I am not a massive fan of Scarlett Johansson, but, like the name "Stella", she is growing on me. Now go to Youtube and find the video of her shopping for a prom dress on Saturday Night Live (i think). Its a cack.

Blogs look better with pictures

But I cant be bothered to find any. Plus I'm at work, and I think I'm getting a cold, so I dont have the devious secrecy needed to search for good pics AND write a post AND check my email AND msn people AND look at Vogues Top Ten Best Dressed (special edition) AND pretend to be so busy working I couldnt POSSIBLY get up to answer the phone. So no pictures, alright?

I've neglected the blog lately cos no one is reading it (except, of course, for the lovely Kat) and I am in a fashion/shopping slump, and also when I get a chance to post I can never think of anything to say.

Also its near the end of semester so I technically have so much work to do (although that should mean i should be writing HEAPS of posts to avoid homework) I feel sort of guilty doing anything else.

But enough excuses!! Check out our bands myspace- yes, despite all previous hatreds/misgivings about myspace, our band has one- its myspace.com/flamingobabyband and have a look at my meez!!! I should export her to here as well, but havent quite worked that out yet. I just love her outfit. I was never a fan of pink and red but she wears it so well!! also I really covet rainbow legwarmers now.

Am on a spending freeze in order to get some funds together to go on a serious shopping spree, in conjunction with selling all my crap clothes and de-cluttering my life in order to expand my belongings and wardrobe with stunning, awesomely wonderful "pieces" that I want to wear ALL. THE .TIME as opposed to wearing this cheap junky stuff and catching sight of myself in a window and realising I look cheap and junky and a bit stupid.

I will keep you posted. Also look out for my stuff on ebay!! Going cheap!!

AR...EE...ESS...PEE..EE...SEA...TEE
